PRAXIS - About the Class

Erin’s class begins with a thorough conditioning warm-up that builds strength, stamina, alignment and awareness through movement. Short sequences draw on hybrid influences from contemporary, somatic and martial arts. These repeatable sequences work the full range of motion in the limbs and spine, build balance and stabilization, and enable the ability to flow through different spatial planes. Improvisation games and scores explore diverse physical states, compositional ideas and relational exchanges. The goal is to warm up creatively, collectively, and compositionally, and to cultivate a mind-body connection and create space for expression and enaction.
